About two weeks ago, I began teaching myself the basics of guitar. And I mean real basic--so far, I've only tackled how to read notes for the first three frets of all five strings. Seems easy, right? I beg to differ. For someone who has never even picked up an instrument and has literally no patience, I'd call it an immensely arduous task. So, get to the point, you say--what's this blog all about?
As you already know, I'm no expert on guitar. So instead of boring you with my ramblings, this will be more so an amalgamation of words, videos, sounds, and the aesthetics surrounding guitar and its culture. This blog will be an experiential process between creator and audience. For both of us, this will be an exploration into the many layers of the medium that is guitar.
My first project, to understand the preponderance guitar has in American culture, will be to see this movie (watch trailer below):
